ORGANISED GROUP BIKE RIDE TO SUNRISE
Our friends at Roll Up On Bikes have organised a fun, healthy and green way to get to Sunrise! Join them on a led cycle ride from Bristol Temple Meads to Thoulstone Park - for a donation of only £10 they will provide a complimentary lunch, bike maintenance from their travelling mechanic and luggage transfer via their support vehicle, plus there's a free shower and drink in it for you when you arrive at the festival on us! To register for the bike ride, select 'Roll Up On Bike's organised cycle ride' tickets and book HERE. For further info, please email Sam, Georgie or Luci on: email@example.com or call them on 07 763 183 938!
The group will leave Bristol Temple Meads at 9am on Thursday 30th and finishes at the festival arriving early afternoon. It will use mostly Sustrans National Cycle Network.
DRIVING TO THE SITE
Please share cars with your mates or find some new friends through the goCarShare website, remember this is a green event! If you are using Sat Nav the postcode is BA13 4AQ. The site is off the A36 south of Frome and North of Warminster. Access will be via left turn only into Thoulstone as you approach from the north. Please stick to major trunk roads when approaching the site - the A36, A361 and A350 only!
PLEASE FOLLOW SIGNS FOR SUNRISE FESTIVAL. Google Map of the site this year, anybody arriving in a single occupancy vehicle (barring bikes, motorbikes, etc) will need to pay a £5 surcharge.
If you are driving from the local area please be considerate and avoid taking shortcuts through local towns and villages, we would like to avoid causing disruption and congestion to local people. This applies to those driving from Frome, Glastonbury or other local towns.
With the average 100 mile car journey leading to over 20 kg of CO2 being produced, goCarShare has the potential to reduce the festival’s carbon footprint considerably. It's a great way to save money if you are driving and, as it is built around Facebook, you can see if your friends are going, find like-minded people to travel with, and check people out before agreeing to share. 'By travelling in a full car, festival-goers carbon emissions become comparable to taking the train…… so it can make a real difference.’ (Source: DEFRA Report) So if you’re driving, or need a lift, click here and share the journey!
GETTING DROPPED OFF ONTO SITE
Those being dropped off in taxi or car will need to do so within the Holding Area at Blue Gate. PLEASE INSTRUCT YOUR DRIVER TO FOLLOW SIGNS FOR SUNRISE FESTIVAL on the A36.
